How To: Contact a client on a job
To contact a client about a job, you’ll need to be a Twine member. You can sign up for free here.
To apply for a job, navigate to the job posting and complete the "Easy Apply ⚡️" form. This will use one application (or "pitch") from your monthly limit. If there isn't an "Easy Apply ⚡️" form, this will be an external job, so you can apply directly on the the website you are linked to.
Before you apply, make sure your account is fully set up.
Activate Your Account: Confirm your email to activate your account.
Set Up Your Profile: Add a profile picture, bio, and portfolio examples.
Add Your Payout Method: Enter your payout details in your settings if the job requires payment through Twine.
Upload Work Samples: Showcase your expertise by uploading examples to your Twine portfolio.
How you present yourself in your initial message is crucial. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make a strong impression.
Go to the Jobs Page: Browse the jobs page and select the job that interests you.
Contact Client Form: On the right-hand side of the job brief, you'll find the "Easy Apply ⚡️" section with a box to enter your application (or under the job description on mobile).
Your Message:
Introduce yourself and explain why you’re suited for the role. Outline relevant experience, skills, and any location-specific details if applicable. Aim for 1-3 paragraphs to provide enough detail while staying concise. Read our guide on crafting an effective application. You can use the AI pitch writer included in Twine Pro to save time.
Availability:
Let the client know when you can start and your general availability for the project.
Estimated Fee:
Provide an initial project fee estimate, either as a fixed amount or the first milestone payment. Note that fees are shown in either USD or GBP, as set by the client. You can adjust this after discussing further details by finalizing the application from your Manage Pitches page.
Payout Details:
If you haven’t added your payout method yet, you’ll be prompted to do so here if the job is paid through Twine.
Some jobs may reach their application limit (usually the first 50 applications), meaning only Twine Pro members can continue to apply. Learn more about why you may not be able to contact a client.
