Step 3: Reviewing Applicants & Public Questions

Following Step 2: Posting your job on Twine, you've posted up a job on Twine. Once your job is approved and live on the platform, each member of our community with the appropriate job role is sent a notification. With very popular jobs it can be mere minutes before freelancers start to engage.

Twine pitch vetting:

Pitches from freelancers are vetted by the Twine team to ensure the individuals are suitable. Freelancers must have relevant examples of their work, and an informative message within their pitch to pass the vetting process

Once approved, pitches will filter through into your project page on the platform.

Reviewing your pitches:

New pitches can be viewed by visiting the posted projects page and clicking on the relevant job post. This will then take you to the "Applied" view. From here you can see all freelancers that have applied as well as their portfolios.

Click on "Messages" to start chatting with any freelancers, it's always good to get on the same page about a project.

Click on "Portfolio" to view a freelancer's profile and any work examples they have uploaded.

Click on "Internal Notes" to write down any thoughts. These are private and won't be shared with the freelancer.

Application stages

Applications can be labelled under several stages using the job management page:

Decline promptly — it's good practice and keeps your dashboard tidy.

To move a freelancer to another stage you can view their application and select an option there or check the box in the list view. You can also select multiple freelancers if you wish to do actions in bulk.

Public questions

Freelancers can submit clarifying questions about your brief. These are vetted by Twine and, once you answer, published alongside your job listing so all applicants can see the response.

Questions often come up around style direction, reference material, or revision expectations. If a question reveals a gap in your brief, it's worth updating your description — better pitches tend to follow.

Job expiry / closure:

Jobs automatically become “inactive” after 30 days on the platform. Once your job hits this threshold, new freelancers are no longer able to pitch. This does not impact the applications you have already received, your messages regarding the job, or your ability to hire.

To prevent a job from becoming inactive, you can amend the close date within the “Edit job” screen. You can also close the job or re-open it again.
