# What Are Applications (or "Pitches")?

On Twine, an application — sometimes called a "pitch" — is your initial message to a client about a project. This is how you apply for the work.

Every Twine member receives 1 free application per day, while Twine Pro members can send up to 50 per month; and Twine Premium is unlimited.

When you send your first message to a new client, you’ll use one of your applications. Any follow-up messages or conversations with clients you’ve already contacted are free and unlimited.

**Here’s the breakdown:**

* First message to a new client = 1 application (or "pitch")
* All additional messages with that client are free and unlimited

We limit free applications to 1 per day (to free users) to reduce spam and protect clients from unsolicited messages.

|| As a reminder, each job on Twine has a limited number of applications from free members. Once this limit is reached, you’ll need to be a Twine Pro member to apply for that job. These jobs are usually labelled as "Popular"
